SNAP Meeting Schedule
From 410 Resources
SNAP Meetings are held Thursdays from 12:00-1:30 in Soda 606. We aim to discuss issues of routing in lossy low-power networks, the INDRA testbed, the HydroWatch project, and other topics related to sensornets.
The following is a schedule of speakers and topics. For speakers, a 40 minute talk would work best, leaving time for discussion and questions. For people bringing lunch, food for 15 people is a good (initial) estimate. Lauren Bailey in 617 Soda will take care of the reimbursement after you give her the receipts.
If you want to present to the SNAP group, please email Arsalan Tavakoli or Jay Taneja.
Fall 2007 - CS298-41 (CCN 26859)
For Fall 2007, we will spend the first half of the semester discussing standard/popular Internet routing protocols (one per meeting). These presentations will be given by two members of the group and will be followed by discussion. The presentations should aim to answer the following questions:
- What is the standard Internet routing protocol? How does it work?
- What are the published elements in the sensornet literature that are closely related?
- How does the standard Internet protocol stack up against the list of requirements for sensornets?
- Given the differences/shortcomings vis-a-vis sensornet requirements, what are the modifications necessary for meeting the requirements of L2N devices?
- What are the scaling characteristics of the protocol?
- What open problems are motivated by this presentation?
- How does this protocol address security concerns?
Reading assignments for the group should be sent out 3 days prior to the meeting.
We will spend the second half of the semester synthesizing the lessons learned from these presentations in order to make recommendations at the BoF session on Routing in L2Ns at the IETF meeting in December.
Here is some information about getting lunch and reimbursements.
